On March 17, Chengdu Municipal Intellectual Property Office, together with Sichuan Provincial Intellectual Property Office and the Intellectual Property Office of Jinniu District under Chengdu City, conducted an administrative law enforcement inspection on the medicine logistics of Chengdu West Medicine Market to combat IPR infringement and counterfeiting, especially the acts of infringement, counterfeiting or imitation of patents and the patent frauds.

A total of 23 enforcers picked out random samples from medicines on over 12,000 shelves containing over 20,000 specifications on the spot. Among these, only 20 items were found to be printed with the patent numbers and one was suspected to counterfeit other's patent. Chengdu Municipal Intellectual Property Office transferred the cases to the related local related departments to handle according to law and at same time, conducted on-the-spot training for the related staffs of the medicine market and asked them to strictly implement the Regulation on Protection and Promotion of Patent of Chengdu Municipality and prohibit the product which counterfeits a patented one from appearing on the shelf in the market.
