Nantong City Becomes WIPO Pilot City

 

On the afternoon of March 26, World Intellectual Property Organization and Nantong Municipal People's Government signed a cooperative agreement, listing Nantong's home textile copyright protection as the pilot investigation item of WIPO's outstanding copyright case.

In the process of developing home textile industry, all levels of local governments have paid great attention to copyright protection and boost copyright protection and management. At present, Nantong owns over 50 private pattern design offices, developing thousands of new patterns each year.

After careful inspection, WIPO decided to cooperate with Nantong on this aspect. At the signing ceremony, Mr.Dimiter Gantchev, head of Creation Department of WIPO, said Nantong's home textile market is a good example of China's copyright protection. Local government has done great work to effectively protect copyright and impelled the favorable interaction between copyright protection and market, which has positive significance in recognizing China's intellectual copyright protection work in the eyes of other countries.
