Overseas trademarks

Enterprises from Ningbo of East China's Zhejiang province registered a total of 5,733 trademarks abroad by the end of last year, more than twice the accumulated number by the end of 2006, according to statistics from the Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Industry and Commerce.

The bureau said more and more companies from Ningbo have realized the importance of registering trademarks abroad in order to meet the complex international economic situation. For example, Youngor Group, a leading manufacturer of men's wear, has registered its trademark in 33 countries. Shanshan Group, another clothing manufacturer of Ningbo, has registered its trademark in 12 countries and regions.
