Guangxi Intellectual Property Office recently held the "Guangxi Geographical Indications Show" in order to enhance public awareness of geographical indications.

The show exhibited 42 products from Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 30 of which have gained the recognition of geographical indications and 11 are applying for or have the potential for geographical indications.

The local government has attached great importance to the work of geographical indications and vigorously promoted the application of geographical indications.

As of the end of 2008, Guangxi has 37 products under protection, including 25 geographical indications and 12 certification marks.
