Pilot Project of IPR Protection for Traditional Knowledge Launched in Sandu Shui Autonomous County of Guizhou

 

Recently, Sandu Shui Autonomous County of Qiannan Prefecture issues the Working Plan of Sandu County on the Pilot Project of IPR Protection for Traditional Knowledge, formally launching the pilot project of IPR protection of traditional knowledge of the county.

SIPO organizes and initiates the pilot project of IPR protection for traditional knowledge, aiming at giving full play to China's advantages in traditional knowledge resources and forming the unique IPR advantages through strengthening the development, utilization and protection of such resources by means of IP system. Sandu Shui Autonomous County is one of China's three counties for the pilot project in the first batch.

In recent years, the CPC Shandu Committee and Sandu County Government regard the work of traditional knowledge heritage, development, utilization and protection as an important project. With unique craftwork, horsetail embroidery of Shui Minority is honored as the "living fossil of China's embroidery". The ancient Shui character is mysterious. On May 20, 2006, approved by the State Council, horsetail embroidery, Shui character and Duanjie Festival of Shui are listed as the intangible cultural heritages of the national level simultaneously in the first batch.
