According to a press conference of Yuhuan County People's Court of Taizhou City, Zhejiang province, Supreme People's Court has authorized Yuhuan County People's Court to accept and try IP civil cases. To date, a total of 13 grassroots courts in Zhejiang Province can partially try IP civil cases. Yuhuan County People's Court is the first of its kind in Taizhou.

Yuhuan County People's Court is now the only grassroots court with IP tribunal in Taizhou City. It can now handle the cases of IP disputes of the first instance in areas other than patent, new plant variety, dispute of layout of integrated circuit design and affirmation of renowned brands with the value of the object of the litigation less than 5 million yuan happened within the jurisdiction of the county.

Foreign-related IP civil cases are still tried by intermediate people's courts.
