A group of five people consisting of related heads of SIPO and the Legislative Affairs Office of the State Council recently goes to Sichuan Province to solicit opinions for the Modification Draft of the Regulations for the Implementation of the Patent Law of the People's Republic of China (draft for opinion solicitation) and Measures of Patent Administrative Law Enforcement, and hold a symposium.

More than 80 representatives from IP administration of municipality, prefecture and county levels, judicial departments, enterprises and institutions and intermediaries in Sichuan Province attend the symposium. Related heads from SIPO introduce the background and the main process of modifying the regulations for the implementation of the Patent Law. The symposium also briefs on the main contents of the modification of the regulations for the implementation of the Patent Law and the goals and significance of amending related clauses. Participants warmly discuss the Modification Draft of the Regulations for the Implementation of the Patent Law of the People's Republic of China (draft for opinion solicitation) and Measures of Patent Administrative Law Enforcement, and put forward many opinions and suggestions on the basis of the working experience of their respective department from the angles of patent administration and protection, judicial protection, patent administration in enterprises and institutions and patent intermediary affairs.

Leaders from SIPO state that SIPO will earnestly summarize the opinions and suggestions of the participants and make further amendment and improvement to the modification draft of the implementation for the Patent Law on the basis of taking the interests of various parties into consideration. Wang Daowei, Deputy Director of Sichuan Provincial IP Administration presides over the symposium and accompanies the group during the investigation.
