Recently, the Finance Bureau, Science and Technology Bureau and IP Administration of Yibin, Sichuan Province jointly issue the Notice on Printing and Issuing the Provisional Measures of Yibin City Concerning the Utilization and Management of the Special Funds for Patent Assistance. This is another measure taken by Yibin City to strengthen IPR protection in the form of administrative documents after the issuance of the Measures of Yibin City on the Management of the Funds for Patent Application Assistance.

According to the Measures, the special funds for patent assistance arranged by the city's fiscal budget will be mainly used to support the application, implementation and reward of the patent projects with high technology contents, promising market prospect and excellent economic return expectation and guide enterprises and institutions in Yibin to fully utilize IP system to research, formulate and implement IP development strategies. The funds can be used in assisting patent applications, implementing patent projects and rewarding people with important patents.

The issuance of the Measures will further promote the government's contact and communication with enterprises and institutions, colleges and universities and research institutes, and establish the diversified IP input system with the government funds as the guidance, enterprise investment as the major part and social investment as the supplement. Through guidance in capital and enhancing investment in independent innovation, measures will be taken to support a batch of new technologies and products with independent IPRs and sound market prospect, accelerate the process of patent achievement transformation, promote the progress of Yibin IP strategy and bring the important roles of IP system in the economic and social development into full play.
