Tianjin IP Administration recently organizes departments such as Tianjin Public Security Bureau and Tianjin 12312 Report and Complaint Center to launch a joint IP law-enforcement action.

During the joint law-enforcement action, law enforcers inspect more than 10,000 commodities in places that are closely related to people's personal interests such as supermarkets and drugstores and record all the commodities with patent marks. After information retrieval, eight suspected counterfeit and imitated patents have been recorded for investigation. Law enforcers also introduce and publicize in detail the practices of the heads of the departments being inspected committing economic fraudulence under the guise of patent, launching patent prize awarding under the names of governmental departments, national organizations and international organizations, fund cheating through patent transfer, defrauding of exhibition fees through holding expos in the names of legal domestic and foreign organizations and promising to award prizes to projects exhibited, and gaining publishing fees by falsely claiming to publish excellent patent projects or collection of inventors' name lists. They have recorded clues of the above-mentioned practices.

The joint law-enforcement action not only effectively improves the capacities and levels of various departments in IPR law-enforcement protection, but also vigorously frightens various illegal practices such as right infringement, patent counterfeit and imitation and IPR-related fraudulences, enhancing the social awareness of IPR protection and innovation and actively promoting the sound image of Tianjin in IPR protection.
