Shangqiu IP Administration of Henan Province Starts "Thunder Storm" and "Net of Heaven" Actions

Shangqiu IP Administration of Henan Province recently starts the three-week operations of law-enforcement inspection and rectification of patented products in circulation field together with related departments according to the deployment and requirements of SIPO and Henan Provincial IP Administration on the special actions of IP law enforcement entitled "Thunder Storm" and "Net of Heaven", effectively restraining the practices of patent counterfeit and imitation and promoting the formation of a sound environment for IPR protection in Shangqiu.

Starting October, Shangqiu IP Administration, together with the Detachment of Economic Crime Investigation of the Shangqiu Public Security Bureau, jointly launches the three-week operation of law-enforcement inspection and rectification of patented products in circulation field, involving 50 law enforcers. For the "Thunder Storm" action, law enforcers start from links such as department stores, supermarkets, drug stores and wholesales centers, putting focus on the key commodities including food, medical products, electronic and electric appliance and articles for daily use. Up to date, more than 10,000 types of products such as food, medicines and electric appliances have been inspected, including nearly 50 types of unqualified products with patent marks and patent numbers, six types of products with imitated patents and six types of products bearing unqualified marks. Law enforcement departments have delivered written rectification notices to related department stores and supermarkets, requiring them to timely take related products out of shelves or remove unqualified marks.

During the law-enforcement process, Shangqiu IP Administration strengthens the publicity and guidance of IPR protection and administration to enterprises and stores, requiring various stores to pay attention to the management of patented products and shoulder the social responsibility of respecting and protecting IPRs.
