SIPO Staff Suffering From the Earthquake Disaster Obtain Temporary Subsidies

 

Entrusted by Leading Party Members’ Group of SIPO, related departments recently convey sympathy and solicitude to the staff members who are suffering from the earthquake disaster and distribute temporary subsidies to them.

After the violent earthquake in Wenchuan County of Sichuan Province, SIPO related departments promptly list the names of the SIPO staff members who are suffering from the disaster. According to statistics, two SIPO staff members suffer severely from the violent earthquake. After learning more about their difficulties, SIPO specially distributes 2,000 yuan of temporary subsidy to each of them to show SIPO’s concerns.

The earthquake disaster strikes a sympathetic chord in every individuals of SIPO. In order to express the concerns to staff members in disaster regions and embody the family-like warmth of SIPO, related departments actively launch the work, hoping to help those who suffer from the disaster out of difficulties and remove their mental pressures, so that they can work harder and make contribution to the disaster relief work.

For many days, leaders and staff members of Sichuan Provincial IP Administration setups actively plunge into the disaster relief work. While adhering to their posts to ensure the normal working order, they also help related departments to launch post-disaster reconstruction work through using patent document information and patent technologies.
After the violent earthquake in Wenchuan County of Sichuan Province, Sichuan Provincial IP Administration immediately holds an emergent conference, conveying the instructions of CPC Central Committee, State Council, CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Sichuan Provincial Government on disaster relief work.

After the conference, Sichuan Provincial IP Administration promptly initiates the emergency plan, clarifying seven measures for emergency and formulating four rules of discipline. It also issues the Circular on Continuing the Patent Application Work During the Earthquake Relief Period and the Emergent Circular on Doing a Good Job in IP Disaster Relief Work in succession, putting forward “eight requirements” on the basis of the six measures of ensuring patent application work, and actively guiding Sichuan IP setups in disaster relief work.

According to the spirits of the instruction, leaders and staff members of Sichuan Provincial IP Administration adhere to their posts to ensure the normal working order. On the one hand, leaders are required to take the lead in related work to strengthen duty report system, nail down specific staff on duty in important posts and ensure smooth communications of confidential work and effective telecommunications among all members. Leaders and staff members of Chengdu Agency continue to work among frequent aftershocks to timely handle patent applications. From May 13 to the end of that month, Chengdu Agency has totally handled 803 patent applications and collects 2,011 sums of patent tax, totaling 1.0417 million yuan; on the other hand, Sichuan Provincial IP Administration further strengthens IPR protection in food and drug sectors. Together with Sichuan Provincial Administration for Industry and Commerce and Chengdu Municipal IP Administration, Sichuan Provincial IP Administration launched two sudden inspections to 90 food wholesale stores and three drug wholesale stores in Chengdu. A total of 16 law enforcers and six vehicles attend these actions.

Meanwhile, supported by SIPO, Sichuan Provincial IP Administration and the IP Publishing House of SIPO jointly publish the Patent Database for Earthquake Relief and present the first batch of 400 copies of disks of the book to related departments, cities, prefectures, enterprises and institutions, helping them launch post-disaster reconstruction work by using patent document information and patent technologies.

Besides their own jobs, Chen Jiuru, Head of the Discipline Inspection Group of Sichuan Provincial IP Administration and other 12 people establish three working groups according to the unified arrangement of the provincial headquarters of disaster relief and are dispatched to provincial command center of disaster relief, command center of Chengdu Military Command and Taipingsi Airport of the provincial command center of disaster relief to be on shift in the provincial command center of disaster relief, coordinate the work in command center of Chengdu Military Command and organize the coordination work of air-dropping relief supplies. Currently, the three groups are working hard and orderly.

After the earthquake, Sichuan Provincial IP Administration immediately organizes all the leaders and staff members of the Administration and patent agencies in Chengdu to donate for the people in disaster regions. Up to date, they have totally donated 10,300 yuan of cash, 195 quilts, cotton coats and sweaters, which are badly needed in disaster regions, and one box of medicines; Party members of the Administration have paid more than 35,000 yuan of special Party membership dues for disaster relief work; nine patent agencies in Chengdu have also donated 52,000 yuan to the people in disaster regions.
