According to a symposium of innovation education in primary and middle schools held by Yueyang Municipal Government of Hunan Province recently, innovation education is scheduled to be launched in primary and middle schools in Yueyang City.

Sui Guoqing, Vice Mayor of the city indicated that the municipal government will establish invention and innovation fund for youngsters and issue the Measures of Yueyang City of Financially Helping Primary and Middle School Students Apply Patents, hoping to stimulate primary and middle school students’ enthusiasm of innovation and invention through financially assisting their patent application. Related departments are currently making preparation according to the requirements, and primary and middle school students will soon have innovation education in class.

Previously, Yueyang Municipal Government specially held a meeting to discuss the Implementing Plan of Innovation Education in Primary and Middle Schools in Yueyang City, aiming at implementing the strategy of invigorating China through science and education, intellectual property strategy, the strategy of reinvigorating China through human resource development, and the requirements of being a city with IP pilot project, so as to build an innovative Yueyang.

Heads of the city’s Science and Technology Bureau, Education Bureau, IP Administration, Association for Science and Technology and related units of counties (cities and districts) attended the symposium.
