The National Working Conference of IPR Protection Offices and IPR Reporting Centers was held in Chongqing from January 21 to 24, 2008. According to information from the conference， the IPR Reporting Center in Chongqing in 2007 received 48 reports, 47 of which were transferred to public security department, including 24 cases related to patent right, 3 to trademark, 19 to copyright and one to business secret. Now 30 cases have been settled, taking 63% of the total. The center also received over 3,000 visitors, letters and phone calls. Meanwhile, the center also organized various kinds of publicity activities on IPR protection, such as "12312" Cup annual news contest related to patent, "12312" Cup IPR contest on internet; "12312" advertisement on outdoor billboard and buses, and printing "12312" brochure, "IPR Handbook", "Questions and Answers on IPR", handbags and notebooks, as well as making publicity films. Moreover, they conducted 5 IPR protection training courses for all levels of the society, attracting some 600 people attended.
