Wuhan Police Stationed in IP Office

In a bid to form effective coordination in enforcement actions and throw more solidified punches at IP crimes, on October 18, the liaison office of Wuhan Public Security Bureau (Police) stationed in the city's Intellectual Property Office was opened, which is purported to work closely with the IP office in routine enforcement operation and add in police power if necessary to clamp down on IP violations for a better market order in the mid-China city.

In the past two years, the two departments had worked together on cases involving counterfeit cigarettes, food and drugs, investigating 641 cases (75.67 million yuan goods in question) of IP infringement, 183 of which were criminal that led 227 suspects into custody.  Some cases of high public attention were broken while a number of underground counterfeit factories and sales network were paralyzed.
