In recent years, Danyang City of Jiangsu Province issued a series of policies and measures related to scientific and technological innovation to accelerate the pace of scientific and technological innovation process and increase enterprises' innovation awareness and capacity. The annual growth of the city's patent application in recent years exceeds 60 percent, with nine enterprises filing more than 50 patent applications annually and four enterprises filing more than 100 patent applications. Nearly 1,000 enterprises possess independent intellectual properties.

With the rapid growth of patent application, the number of patent disputes also increases dramatically, mainly in some specific areas. To resolve the problem, on the one hand, Danyang IP Administration strengthens its publicity work of patent right protection. It intensifies the investigation on patent dispute cases, and actively and firmly supports the administrative interventions from law enforcement departments of higher levels. This year, Danyang IP Administration has supported Zhenjiang IP Administration to successfully deal with five patent dispute cases, protecting patent holders' rights and interests, educating related enterprises and purifying the environment for IP protection of the city. On the other hand, Danyang IP Administration actively promotes the construction of the mechanism to protect enterprises' rights. Starting from the nine patent giants, the administration established an IPR protection office to guide these enterprises' works in their right protection with some typical cases emerged, involving Jiangsu Tanghuang Group, Jiangsu ShengLuolan Bedding Co. Ltd., Jiangsu Alen Home Textile Co. Ltd. and Jiangsu Yuanyang Car Lamp Co. Ltd. The investigations to these cases greatly lift the right protection awareness of a large number of enterprises in the city, creating the thick atmosphere of IPR protection.
