The traditional industries of Danyang, Jiangsu Province mainly include optical spectacles, wood industry, automobile and motorcycle parts, silk textile, fine chemicals and hardware, which enjoy high reputation nationwide and even all over the world. In order to improve these traditional industries through high and new technologies, protect the scientific and technological innovation achievements and strengthen IPR protection for national industries, Danyang IP Administration, together with Jiangsu University and Danyang Optical Chamber of Commerce, recently launched an action to protect IPR in optical spectacles industry. They investigated more than 600 optical spectacles enterprises in the city through handing out questionnaires of IPR protection to them, trying to find out the major problems regarding IPR protection in this industry, analyze the state of IPR protection and seek the detailed information on the demands of optical spectacles enterprises on IP services. On the basis, Danyang IP Administration will issue corresponding policies to promote IPR protection, and establish a database for spectacles production industry. By setting up the information service platform, the administration can raise their service quality and level. After optical spectacles industry, Danyang IP Administration will continue the program in other traditional industries, so that all the scientific and technological achievements in traditional industries of the city can be effectively protected.
