More than 350 primary and middle school students from over 20 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities recently gathered in Mianyang City of Sichuan Province for the fourth National Labor Skill Innovation Contest for Primary and Middle School Students and the National Outstanding Innovative Youths Election. Peng Peiyun, Vice Chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress extended her congratulation letter to the event.

The contest aims at improving the youngsters' innovation awareness, stimulating their innovation enthusiasm, establishing a platform for their innovations, encourage them to love and learn sciences, boosting their innovation spirits and increase their practicing capacities. The contest has attracted 659 works from nearly 1,000 primary and middle schools in 27 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities nationwide, fully embodying Chinese youngsters' scientific and technological awareness and innovation thinking. The contest was jointly held by Chinese Society of Education, China Association of Invention, China National Institute for Educational Research, China Guanghua Foundation, Mianyang Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and Mianyang Municipal Government.
