Patent Applications and Grants in Qidong of Jiangsu Province Doubled in the First Half This Year

 

Nantong Science and Technology Bureau recently issued the statistics of patent applications and grants of its affiliated counties and cities in the first seven months of 2007. Qidong City totally filed 538 patent applications, 122 of which were granted, up 109.34 percent and 106.78 percent year on year respectively. The number of both patent applications and patents granted doubled, accomplishing 88 percent of the whole years target.

Since the beginning of 2007, Qidong IP Administration gives priority to the quality and quantity of patent application. It takes a series of measures such as strengthening information publicity, launching pilot projects, intensifying trainings to related units, finance and policy supports, establishing and improving management mechanism, deepening right protection through law enforcement and supplying high-level services to continuously promote local people's consciousness of IP protection and encourage enterprises to increase their innovation capabilities, greatly improving the development of patent work of the whole city.
