In the first half of 2007, Lianshui County of Jiangsu Province was dynamic in patent application, focusing on the program of transforming important achievements initiated by the Department of Science and Technology of Jiangsu Province. The county supplies tracking patent services to some key enterprises and strengthens its patent publicity. In the first half this year, the number of patent application exceeded 150, outnumbering that of the whole year of 2006.

Lianshui Science and Technology Bureau actively provides home services for enterprises that have applied for important achievement transformation projects, and helps these enterprises in tapping invention potential, achieving notable progress. Lianshui enterprises totally filed four patent applications for invention, 10 patent applications for utility model and more than 30 patent applications for design. The bureau provides tracking services to some key enterprises like Yongsheng Glove Co. Ltd., Yunjin Weaving Center and Jinhai Electron, requiring them to apply for patent for every new product. The three key enterprises totally applied for more than 60 patents this year. On the World Intellectual Property Day on April 26, the bureau launched a series of activities to strengthen information publicity, stimulate people's enthusiasm of invention and increase people's consciousness of patent application, making notable achievements in this regard.
