On April 20, the launching ceremony of IP Publicity Week 2020 of Guangxi Province was held in the form of video conference. Wu Jiashi, Secondary Convener of inter-department joint conference on IP strategy implementation work of Guangxi Province and Director General of the Administration for Market Regulation of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, attended the launching ceremony and made a speech. Focusing on the theme "Intellectual Property and Healthy China", the events will be launched from April 20 to 26 across the Region to widely publicize the latest progress, experience and achievements in IP protection of the state and Guangxi, in a bid to create a sound climate for building an autonomous region strong on IP.

Wu Jiashi detailed the activity arrangements for the Publicity Week in his speech. Four series of over 90 activities will be launched and more than 20 "Square Day" events on IP publicity service will be held. Some IP publicity service activities will be launched in enterprises, campuses and communities to publicize IP protection policies and measures in diversified forms and from diversified perspectives. The White Paper on the Status of IP Protection in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in 2019 and other IP-related reports will be published to introduce the status of IP development and protection in Guangxi. Both online and offline publicity activities will be carried out to help enterprises resume work and provide them with precise service. During the Publicity Week, relevant departments will also launch some 30 IP-related exhibitions, lectures and knowledge contests including "achievement exhibition of targeted poverty alleviation assisted by geographical indications in Guangxi", region-wide pre-job training class on patent administrative law enforcement, training class on application for China Patent Awards, patent retrieval competition in Guangxi universities and IP publicity post design competition, in order to further publicize the achievements made in IP protection.

The awarding ceremony for national model and dominant enterprises in IP was also held at the launching ceremony, at which representatives read the initiative on IP protection and the principal of IP Protection Office of the Administration for Market Regulation of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region released the White Paper on the Status of IP Protection in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in 2019. 30 representatives from the Administration for Market Regulation of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Guangxi Intellectual Property Office, relevant enterprises, IP service agencies and scientific research institutions attended the main venue activity, and relevant principals from joint conference offices on IP strategy implementation work and administrations for market regulation of various cities attended the launching ceremony. (Translated from CNIPA Website Chinese Version)
