Market supervision and management authorities in Guangzhou recently earmarked their provincial capital's first patent aid fund for this year, worth about 12.18 million yuan ($1.73 million). The fund mainly helps organizations and individuals as patentees or international patent applicants via the Patent Cooperation Treaty. Holders of eligible duty invention patents authorized domestically will each get a subsidy worth 3,000 yuan.
