The Beijing Invention and Innovation Competition awarded 21 people for their outstanding performance in innovation in mid-July. The winners, from various walks of life, included a researcher making breakthroughs in core aerospace technologies, a university professor focusing on research into soil recovery and an engineer engaged in resolving difficulties in new energy-generated power provision for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. The annual competition has seen growing influence across the city, its organizers said.
