The Sichuan provincial government gave awards to 42 patented technological projects and unveiled a list of the top 100 innovative companies in the province earlier this month. The ranking is the province's first evaluation of companies' innovative capacities. By analyzing the number, quality and commercialization of companies' patents, the authorities have sought to present a clear-cut picture of the local economic landscape, officials said.
