A cash reward recognizing the province's most important and innovative patents is due to be given to 49 companies, including passenger car manufacturer Zhengzhou Yutong Group. The biennial award is used to encourage and reward patents that make prominent contributions to the province's social and economic development, local officials said. Invention patents that have great value and influence stand to get a maximum award of 1 million yuan ($159,300).
