"IPR protection never ends although the campaign on combating IPR infringement and manufacturing and sales of counterfeit and inferior quality commodities concluded temporarily lately", according to Wang Qishan, the Chinese Vice Premier, when he paid a two-day inspection visit to Zunyi and Guiyang in Guizhou province on August 18. Wang said that governments at various levels should summarize experiences and the problems of the campaign, maintain high pressure on IPR protection and fighting against infringement in accordance with the arrangements and requirements of the central authorities. SIPO Commissioner Tian Lipu and other department principals were in company.
After listened to report on the special campaign of Guizhou province during the visit, Wang pointed out that branches in different regions and at different levels carried out the campaign forcefully and efficiently under the uniform deployment of the State Council and remarkable achievements have been made nationwide. However, cracking down on piracy and infringement is now still facing a tough situation and be a complicated and arduous task requiring long-term efforts and can not accomplish the whole task at one stroke. Related agencies should establish the overall concept, enhance IPR protection awareness and create a favorable environment for innovation. Also, Wang said that efforts should be made to perfect related laws and regulations, to improve innovative system and mechanism and to strengthen service and management. Successful experiences should be promoted in an effort to build up a long-term mechanism for IPR protection.
