Achieving Licensed Software Mandatory for Governments above County Level Next Year

A  press conference on process of national campaign to crack down on violations of IPR by State Council Information Office of China on November 30 said that in an effort to advance use of licnesed software General Office of the State Council released a circular on encouraging government bodies to use licensed software. Special supervision and examination for popularizing authorized software in state organs will be accomplished before the end of May in 2011. Data shows that state organs have spent 794 million yuan on purchasing authorized software by the end of 2009.


As part of the campaign, SIPO has unveiled a law enforcement action plan in IPR system, the Ministry of Public Security has supervised and handled the first 30 major cases and the General Administration of Press and Publication has investigated and dealt with 55 major copyright cases.
