The final round of evaluation for the 5th China Design patent Contest was held on October 25 in Beijing. After four hours of intense examination, jurors eventually selected awards for both best patent and innovative design which would be announced at the 8th China (Wuxi) International Industrial Design Expo on November 8.

The competition has received a total of 832 entries including 474 patent projects and 358 design projects. The number of entries featuring quantity, high quality and wide scope, jumped from 364 in 2009 to 832 this year. These entries cover many fields such as medical equipment, automobile and electronics. Over 350 entries were sent by students from Guangdong University of Technology and other colleges which reap top of the contest.
