The press conference on preparing work for 4th China Patent Week was held on October 21. The event to be held during November 7 and 13 and its theme is utilizing patent system to promote economic and social development mode transformation and make China an innovative nation. Chongqing is the main field while it also takes places in branch fields nationwide.

Ma Weiye, the administrator of Patent Administration Department of SIPO said that the event of this year hit a record high in scale and it will be a regular event held in the second week of November every year. Compared with the past events, this week highlights four features: First, the event orientation is further clarified; second, organization mechanism is strengthened; third, the activity intension is extended; Fourth, publicity is further promoted. Via an extensive media coverage by central and regional news outlets during the event, the patent week will see promotion in social impact, according to Ma.
