The China International Patent Fair 2010 (CIPF) scheduled for the Dalian World Expo Center from August 6 to 8 is the most influential State-level international fair for patent technology in China", Cao Donggen, deputy director general of the Patent Management Division of State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO), said at a news conference held in Beijing last Friday.
Organized to further promote industrialization of patented technologies, "this year's CIPF will focus more on the development of low-carbon industries," Cao said.
With the theme of "new energy, new light and new life", this year's event emphasizes green-tech innovations as well as conservation, he added.
International companies involved in energy conservation, environmental protection and high-performance illumination are among the major participants.
Innovations from more than 10 countries - including the United States, Britain, Canada, Australia, Russia and Belgium - and more than 40 domestic provinces, autonomous regions and cities are expected to be presented during the exhibition.
The 30,000 sq m fair with about 1,000 exhibition booths will also showcase China patent awards, innovations by teenagers and college students, patents from home and abroad, business forums and other activities.
A high-level forum on intellectual property rights will also be held as government officials, business leaders, experts and scholars exchange insights.
Founded in 2002, the CIPF is jointly sponsored by SIPO, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Liaoning provincial government.
