June 15 this year marks the 2nd anniversary of the release of the Outline of the National Intellectual Property Strategy. Successful implementation of the IP strategy rendered tremendous contribution to overcome the impact of the international financial crisis and to maintain steady and relatively fast growth of economy. Remarkable achievements has been made for the two years.

The year of 2009 was the first year to fully initiate the implementation of the strategy. In the context of the impact of the international financial crisis, the capability of creation and application of IPR were prominently enhanced. SIPO received 977,000 patent applications; Trademark Office received 830,000 trademark applications: 403,000 pieces of copyright works were registered at the NCAC and software registrations logged at 71,000; The Public Security Departments uncovered 1,624 IPR criminal cases involving proceeds of 1.038 billion yuan; The people's procuratorates  nationwide approved arrest of 2,119 suspects in 1,256 IP-related cases and prosecuted 2,695 suspects in 1,535 cases.
