Over 1,000 IPR-backed Achievements Applied in the Shanghai Expo

Science and Technology Theme Conference of 2010 Expo was held on May 9.The Director of the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission, Shou Ziqi said, China has launched over 230 research projects in fields such as new-energy, environmental protection and building energy efficiency which gained 1,100 S&T IPR-backed achievements have been widely applied in the Shanghai Expo.

Low-carbon emission has been accomplished with "zero emission" of passenger transport vehicles within the Park and 30% reduction in carbon emission from building structures and lighting. In addition, LED lighting technology is used for illumination, including landscape lighting of the Urban Best Practices Area and four pavilions along central axis as well as 80% of the night lighting of the Expo Park.
