China Goes All out for Protecting Shanghai Expo IPRs

The Ministry of Justice and National Popularization of Legal Knowledge Office recently jointly released a Circular on Further Propping Up People's Understanding of Legal Knowledge During Shanghai Expo, stressing enhanced public education of IP protection for Shanghai Expo. Under the Circular, concerted efforts would be made to step up the popularization of IP protection for Shanghai Expo, encourage the masses to enhance their concept of behaving in accordance with the law, bring more converge of IP protection centering on Expo.


Customs nationwide has handled 5 IPR infringement cases. Infringing cargos in question mainly are lighters, toothbrushes and pamphlets which uses Expo emblem and mascot without authorization.
