The General Administration of Customs (GAC) said Saturday that products invovled in the cases included lighters, toothbrushes and brochures bearing the mascot and the emblem of the Shanghai Expo without authorization.
The GAC on January 21 launched a ten-month IPR protection campaign for the six-month Shanghai World Expo that formally opened to the public Saturday morning.
The campaign is aimed at improving the reputation of Chinese exports and raising awareness about IPR protection among China's export-oriented enterprises, said Meng Yang, director in charge of policy and legal affairs at GAC.
