SIPO, National Copyright Administration of China (NCAC) and other authorities promulgated their measures recently, deploying protection of IPRs for the nearing Shanghai Expo.
SIPO released the Plan on Patent Enforcement of 2010 Shanghai World Expo to ensure complete cover of patent enforcement during the Expo. According to the plan, IP authorities will coordinate relevant offices and organizations in Shanghai and Yangtze Delta at large to curb Expo-related patent dispute from happening, handle them effectively if they do pop up. In parallel, NCAC formulated a rapid response mechanism for combating piracy during the Expo. Under the mechanism, NCAC are vested with the authorities in organizing, coordinating and guiding enforcement activities throughout the nation.
