In 2009, China’s administrations for industry and commerce (AICs) totally handled 51,044 trademark cases, safeguarding the rights and interests of trademark owners and consumers.
Further improving the trademark-related laws and regulations, accelerating the registration examination, State Administration for Industry and Commerce has made great achievements in the past year. Of all the cases, 7,448 were general violations against laws and 43,596 infringing cases. Also, 10,461 involving foreign interests, 13,534,022 illegal trademarks were captured and destroyed. 92 trademark criminal cases and 109 suspects were transferred to judicial authorities.
Based on these performances, trademark counterfeit and infringement and unfair competition were effectively curbed.
