With the deepening of international communication and cooperation, China has much more influences in international intellectual property (IP) issues, said Director of Chinese State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) Tian Lipu in his report on February 1 at the national meeting for directors of intellectual property offices across China.
Tian Lipu pointed out that, there are several embodiments for Chinese deepened international cooperation in IP issues:
Actively participating in international IP negotiations and consultation, and striving for voices in significant topics such as the harmonization of international patent system, genetic resources, traditional knowledge, folklore and IP protection, and public health, so to build the active and responsible image of China;
Further stabilizing and developing the bilateral relationship with main countries and districts and developing new partnership to maximum the mutual benefits; actively carrying out trainings for Africa, ASEAN countries, Mongolia, North Korea, Pakistan, Cuba and other developing countries to realize the transformation from acceptor to exporter in respect to international cooperation and assistance;
Being calm with the IP stress brought by developed countries and appropriately solving conflicts so to create a harmonious and stable international trading environment for China;
Keeping broadening the propaganda platform to show measures and achievements by China in IP protection to the world in an objective and comprehensive way.
Tian said that, from the international aspect, although the situation for international competition is more and more complicated, we should notice that the cooperation is still the mainstream of the international relationship.
