At the 12th China-ASEAN Summit, on October 24, in Cha-am Hua Hin, Thailand, SIPO commissioner Tian Lipu in representing China signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on IPR Cooperation with ASEAN member states.

Under the MOU, on top of stepping up communications on IPR measures, the two sides will perform substantial cooperation in IPR examination, quality control, training and automation and databases construction. After the signing ceremony, Tian added, “the cooperation between China and the member states of ASEAN has been on-going for many years, and such cooperation covers multiple issues at multiple levels. The MOU is bound to elevate such cooperation to a new height.”
