International Symposium Highlights Innovation in Pearl River Delta

Guangdong Intellectual Property Office and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce jointly held the International Symposium on Innovation and IPR of Pearl River Delta from October 26 to 27 in Guangzhou, Guangdong.  SIPO deputy commissioner He Hua and U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke made the keynote presentation.

He said that since the U.S. is a global leader in innovation and IPR, its experiences in this sector would be instructive for China. The symposium will play a favorable role in enhancing corporate awareness and capability of using IPRs. Locke vowed to beef up cooperation with China on law enforcement, improve IPR awareness and protection.

The theme of symposium is how to promote economic transition in the context of financial crisis. More than 20 guests from Huawei Technologies, Cisco, GM, Microsoft, General Administration of Customs, Guangdong IP Office and Guangdong IP Protection Association delivered a speech at symposium.
