Beijing No.2 Intermediate People's Court ruled in favor for owner of exam management software, Beijing Hope Software Co., Ltd., ordering injunction, apology from co-defendants, 300,000 yuan in damages and 20,000 yuan in litigation cost.

The plaintiff claimed its registered software, Hope Exam Management System 1.0, is infringed by Australia company Corel's namesake product.  Corel contended the Hope 1.0 software is not consistent with what its owner registered.  There is no basis for a case.  But the court thought different and found Corel and co-defendant Beijing Jiefo Software liable for the infringement.
