According to the National Anti-Pornography and Anti-Illegal Publications Office, from January to July, China seized 39.256 million illegal publications of all types, 1.036 million of which were pornographic ones, 35.183 million were pirated ones and 1.345 million were illegal newspapers and magazines.  In addition, 63,000 pieces of harmful information was deleted or blocked.  One illegal assembly line of optical disks is seized.

A principal of the Office said, in the first seven months of the year, enforcement teams constantly delivered intense and full-scale actions against illegal publications.  Ranking members of local governments directed the teams themselves, effectively uncovered a series of high-profiles cases and sent strong deterrent messages to the felons.
