The copyright infringement case against P&G Guangzhou Ltd is the third lawsuit filed by Beijing Founder Electronics Co Ltd over its fonts.
Wenxing Co Ltd in 2005 was ordered by a court to apologize and pay 300,000 yuan to Founder Electronics.
Wenxing was accused of pirating 12 fonts, or typefaces, copyrighted by Founder Electronics.
Founder Electronics in 2007 filed a lawsuit seeking 100 million yuan in compensation from the online game WoW.
Courts have not ruled in the WoW case or in the current case against P&G Guangzhou.
Although some insiders suggested that the P&G lawsuit was filed to enhance Founder Electronics' brand recognition, lawyer Xu Zinming disagreed.
"Founder is already a famous brand, so it doesn't have to turn to suing others to become well known," Xu, chief counsel for www.ciplawyer.com, told China Business Weekly.
