Shanghai Expo Emblem Gains Cross-class Trademark Protection

The Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination receives the last series of trademark registration certificates of the emblem of Expo 2010 Shanghai China, marking of the conclusion of its 45 trademark registrations in all classes of commodities and services in China's mainland.

The emblem has gained registration in 39 countries and regions.  In addition to the mainland, it is awarded protection coverage over all classes in Russia, Switzerland, China's Hong Kong and Macao. 

Shanghai Expo is determined to create an enabling IPR protection environment for all participating parties by streamlining procedures, upgrading services, etc..  The Bureau just concluded a memorandum with the Music Copyright Society of China.
