Customs seize discs
Hong Kong Customs officers recently arrested four mainlanders and seized about 2 million unmanifested CDs and VCDs worth about $30 million from a local fishing vessel off Beaufort Island.
Shortly before midnight on Jan. 6, a Customs patrol launch stopped and searched the vessel that was leaving for the mainland. The CDs and VCDs were found in a false compartment underneath the kitchen.
Four men aged 32 to 55, including the captain and three crewmen, were arrested. The discs seized were not copyright-infringing copies.
