Patent industrialization

Shenyang municipal government recently issued a series of policies regarding increased support for the transformation of patented technologies.

Enterprises in Shenyang can get funds equaling 10 percent of a contract amount if the patent industrialization project has a transaction value of over 500,000 yuan or an investment of more than 5 million yuan, but the total amount of funding should not exceed 1 million yuan.

Scientific research institutes and colleges enjoy equal preferential policies for patented technology industrialization. Shenyang encourages scientific research institutes and colleges to attract investments in technology projects, and will reward a maximum of 1 million yuan to projects with an investment scale of over 30 million yuan.

The document also stresses that departments shall implement IP strategy, strengthen protection of intellectual property, encourage research and development of new technologies and products, form independent intellectual property and independent brands. The government will also provide subsidies for patent applications in industry-university-research partnership projects.
