According to People's Court Daily, the Supreme People's Court holds a press conference on December 4 to release the information related to the Opinions on Providing Judicial Guarantee and Legal Services to Promote Reforms and Development in Rural Areas (hereafter referred to as the Opinions). The Opinions clarifies that people's courts should protect agricultural IPRs and promote scientific and technological innovation in agriculture sector.

The Opinions puts forward five measures to strengthen the protection of modern agriculture, clearly requiring protecting agricultural IPRs. Measures should be taken to strengthen the work of trying agriculture-related IP cases, increase the protection of agricultural IPRs, especially the important scientific and technological achievements in agriculture sector and new plant varieties, intensify IPR protection of the scientific and technological innovation achievements and promote scientific and technological innovation in agriculture sector.

At the press conference, the spokesman of the Supreme People's Court also introduces in detail the background of issuing the Opinions, the basic information of cases of land resource disputes in rural areas, the six measures of the people's courts in promoting agricultural reforms and innovations and strengthening systematic construction in rural areas, the three measures of the people's courts of promoting social progress in rural areas in an all-round way and the five measures of constantly improving the judicial guarantee and service level of the people's courts.
