According to the December 9 joint conference of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission and the National Copyright Administration, the central-government-administered state-owned enterprises (SOEs) fared well in running only licensed software. Headquarters of 109 top SOEs are expected to clear that benchmark as of the year's end.
In 2008, 113 SOEs plan to spend 160 million yuan on licensed software, 45 million yuan of which has materialized. SOEs promise to appropriate proper budget for 2009 and to put in place better management program for software assets in a bid to ensure use of only legitimate software in headquarters of all top SOEs and similar requirement for most of their immediate subsidiaries.
