On November 18, the Second China Patent Week opens simultaneously in various provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities across China. SIPO Commissioner Tian Lipu and Jiangxi Province Governor Wu Xinxiong attend the opening ceremony of Nanchang main venue, which is presided over by Xie Ru, Vice Governor of Jiangxi Province.

Mr. Tian points out at the opening ceremony that the State Council issues the Compendium on China National IP Strategy, deciding to implement national IP strategy. To realize the strategic goal of "constructing China into a country with comparatively high level of IPR creation, utilization, protection and administration by 2020" put forward by the Compendium, we need to continue deepening the implementation of the plan of the national patent technology exhibition and exchange platform, accelerate the work of patent technology exhibition, exchange, transformation and industrialization, constantly develop and improve IP market system and realize the transformation from independent IPRs to realistic productivity.

Mr. Tian stresses that SIPO will continue to hold China Patent Week according to the requirements of the Scientific Outlook on Development so as to constantly foster the professional brand of China Patent Week with unique characteristics for commonweal and form the annual effect of a great patent market nationwide. He says that China Patent Week will be held annually and will constantly expand its activity scope, enrich its activity content and innovate its activity forms so as to develop China Patent Week into one of the important mechanisms to promote the implementation of the national IP strategy, as well as one of the important mechanisms to promote the construction of a innovative country. By doing this, we can promote China's IP cause into a new stage and boost China's innovative country construction program in an all-round manner.

Sponsored by SIPO, the Second China Patent Week has a theme of "implementing IP strategy, developing IP market and constructing an innovative country." During the week, various provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities will, taking into consideration their own characteristics of economic development and industrial advantages, arrange the exhibition and exchanges of excellent patent technologies in sectors such as creative industry, energy saving and pollution reduction, earthquake and disaster relief, new countryside construction and the construction of resource saving and environment friendly society. Other special forums and seminars with various forms and abundant themes such as consultation conferences of patent project investment and financing, patent auctions, patent promotion conferences, matchmaking meetings of high-tech enterprises and patent projects, and the patent release conferences of non-service patent holders.

During the week, more than 30 patent technology exhibitions and exchanges from various provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions will be held with participants estimated to reach 100,000 people. Nearly 20,000 excellent patent technologies and products are selected to be exhibited for exchange. Meanwhile, various provinces and municipalities also launch online exhibition and exchange platforms of patent technologies to show and publicize their large quantities of patent technologies and products for a long term.

China Patent Week this year has a main venue in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province and branch venues in various provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities. Its supporting units include National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Agriculture, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China Development Bank and the people's governments of more than 20 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities. Jointly held by IP administrations of various provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, many national patent technology exhibitions and exchange centers and related social units, China Patent Week this year in various regions is organized and coordinated by competent leaders of various provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions.
