On November 21, Vice Premier Wang Qishan took part in the national IPR strategy implementation work meeting. He emphasized, China should take IPR strategy as an important task of studying and carrying out scientific development concept.

Wang pointed out, the role of IPR system becomes prominent, especially the promulgation of National IPR Strategy Outline, which is of great significance in reinforcing independent innovation capacity, constructing innovative country and transforming economic development mode, and boosting the well and quicker development of economy.

So the role of national IPR strategy implementation work meeting should be fully exerted. And as the leader of this task, the State Intellectual Property Office must strengthen serving awareness and do well in organizing and coordinating work, Wang required.

Wang also stressed, the nation should develop long-term activity to carry out IPR strategy: first, solving current outstanding problems, launching special campaigns and ferreting out and handling major cases; second, impelling IPR system construction, perfecting relevant laws and regulations, enhancing the IPR awareness of the whole society, cultivating IPR culture of respecting knowledge, admiring innovation and honest and law-abiding, and creating a favorable atmosphere for IPR protection.
