The press conference of the second China Patent Week is held on September 25 in Beijing, at which, Ma Weiye, Director of SIPO Patent Affairs Administration Department, briefs on information related to the second China Patent Week. As the representative of the hosting units of the second China Patent Week, Lai Guangsong, Director of Jiangxi Provincial IP Administration, introduces the work related to the preparation of the event. The press conference is presided over by Gan Shaoning, Director of SIPO General Affairs Office.
Sponsored by SIPO, the second China Patent Week is jointly held by IP administrations, national patent technology exhibition and exchange centers in various provinces and municipalities and related social units in various provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions nationwide simultaneously on November 18-22. With a theme of “Implementing IP Strategies, Developing IPR Markets and Constructing an Innovative Country,” the second China Patent Week will establish a main market in Nanchang City of Jiangxi Province and sub-markets. It also gains strong supports from related departments of the State Council and the people’s governments of various provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions.
China Patent Week this year will hold on-the-spot exchanges and exhibitions of patented technologies and products nationwide, online patent exhibitions and exchanges and special promotion fairs of patented technologies. Meanwhile, a series of special activities such as the Forum on IPR Broker and Intermediate Development and the Symposium on the Implementation of the National IP Strategy and the Development of IPR Markets will also be held.
In June this year, the State Council issues the Compendium on China National IP Strategy, deciding to implement the national IP strategy. The Compendium puts forward to develop China into a country with comparatively higher level of IPR creation, utilization, protection and administration. To realize the grand strategic goal, measures should be taken to further develop IPR markets, deepen the implementation of the plan of national patent technology exhibition and exchange, boost the work of patent technology exhibition, exchange, transformation and industrialization, and transform independent IPRs into realistic productivity. For this purpose, SIPO decides to continue China Patent Week on the basis of the successful experience of holding the first China Patent Week, and pledges to hold the event every year so as to constantly foster and gradually establish the professional brand of non-profit China Patent Week with unique characteristics and the effect of an annual national patent market.
More than 60 people, including representatives from the supporting units of China Patent Week, IP administrations, national patent technology exhibition and exchange centers in related provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions and related cooperative organizations, and journalists attend the press conference.
