Sponsored by SIPO, European Patent Office (EPO), Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM) of EU and Guangdong Provincial IP Administration, the International Seminar on European IP System --- Industrial Design and Patent is grandly held by Shunde District Government of Foshan City in Shunde. Li Yuguang, SIPO Deputy Commissioner, Tao Kaiyuan, Director of Guangdong Provincial IP Administration, Pedro Fro Osona Romanillos, high official of EPO, and Jose Julian Izquiedo Peris, OHIM official, participate in the seminar and deliver speeches.

Focusing on the two themes of the industrial design system of EU and European patent system, the seminar invites related experts and European renowned lawyers to specially introduce and discuss issues such as the characteristics of the European patent system and the industrial design system of EU, patent application and examination, proceedings and the procedures for Chinese patentees to obtain IPR protection in Europe. The seminar also compares China’s industrial design system with that of the EU, deepening bilateral understanding and cooperation in IP system of both parties.

The success of the seminar provides a sound exchange platform for both China and Europe, playing an important role and exerting great influence in enhancing communications of various parties in IP sector and strengthening the IPR protection awareness of enterprises in Guangdong.

About 180 people from governments of various cities, enterprises, law circle and research institutes in Guangdong participate in the seminar.
